Enrollment and Admission for English-taught Undergraduate Programs 2020 Completed Successfully

In 2020, College of International Education, along with Dean's Office, School of Management Studies, School of Fashion Engineering and School of Electric and Electronic Engineering, established 3 English-taught undergraduate programs including International Economics & Trade, Textile Engineering and Artificial Intelligence. Recently, with solicitude and support from the Leadership Board and all relevant Departments and Schools, enrollment and admission for English-taught undergraduate programs 2020 was completed successfully.

For the 2020 enrollment, more than 200 international students submitted application for the English-taught undergraduate programs. 85 of them were admitted, with the admission rate of 40% approximately. These 85 students come from 32 countries all over the world, among which 59% are countries along “the Belt and Road”. Increasing quality and quantity of application and admission indicates remarkable improvement in matriculate quality of international students at SUES.

Despite of the inconvenience caused by COVID-19 pandemic, CIE established an enthusiastic work team and innovated enrollment mode. Enrollment channels were expanded with a multidimensional and multimedia network covering domestic and international websites, WeChat Subscription, newspapers, Fackbook, etc. Enrollment brochure and admission process were launched on a fair and open basis. Consultation, application, material review, online test, interview and admission were carried out smoothly in perfect order.

Establishment and operation of English-taught undergraduate programs would serve as a boost in internationalization of student body, instructional work, curriculum, faculty and research of SUES. We strive to create a warm, supportive environment for students of all backgrounds.
